The Canon XL1s:

The Canon XL1s digital video camcorder has been around for three years and has become one of the most popular camcorders on the market. It’s flexibility and functionality has made it extremely popular with every facet of the video industry. From extensive use in ‘Reality’ television shows, documentary films, corporate and government video, to feature films such as ’28 Days Later’ and ‘Full Frontal’. The camera has proven itself to be the one of the most widely used and most flexible MiniDV cameras available. The introduction of Canon's XL2 does not make the XL1s obsolete, just discontinued. The cameras are still widely used, and available for rent and purchase. While more limited than it's newer cousin, the XL1s will continue to be a workhorse for many applications all over the world.
