Q: Is the XL1s guide for the XL1 or XL1s? A: Primarily the guide is designed and structured around the XL1s. The two cameras are very similar, especially in the external buttons/functions. With the exception of the way the menu is accessed and the menu itself the rest of the sections could refer to either camera. Q: I have a PAL XL1s or XL2 or XM2 will the guide be useful to me? A: With the exception of the shutter speeds, and the MiniDV color space (4:2:0 rather than NTSC’s 4:1:1) the functions of the XL1s NTSC and the XL1s PAL are exactly the same. So these guides will be extremely useful to you. The GL2 and the XM2 are essentially the same camera except for the differences cited above. The same can be said for the XL2 camera - the PAL version has different CCDs, and NO 24p function (25p and 50i only) outside of that the cameras are the same. Q: I live outside of North America, and don’t have a Region 1 DVD player will I still be able to view the DVD? A: The Guide DVD is region free so you can see it anywhere in the world where you can watch an NTSC DVD. Q: I have a question about my XL1/GL2/XL2 or other Canon camera, can I email or call you? A: Sorry, we're not camera experts-we just sell the DVD. If you have a very specific question you can contact Canon at www.canondv.com or by calling 1-800-OK-CANON (in North America). There are some great forums online where you can post your question and perhaps get it answered. Our favorite is www.dvinfo.net. Q: How much is shipping to my country in Europe/Asia? A: We will ship internationally. Please email your exact address to us at ‘help@canondvguide.com’ for shipping pricing and we will quote you a price. We only ship USPS Global Priority Mail; which is approximately $10.00 to most countries, but all international shipping is subject to change without notice. Please email us before placing an order. Q: Where can I buy used XL1s, GL2 or XL2 cameras or accessories? A: We do not endorse or support any specific dealer. Genuine Canon accessories can be purchased from Canon or any Authorized Canon Dealer. Please be cautious and careful when purchasing used equipment. If purchasing a used XL1, XL1s or XL2 camcorder you may ask the person you’re buying it from if they would get it cleaned/serviced from Canon as part of the Canon XL owners club. For $95 (plus shipping) you can have a full diagnostic done on the camera and cleaning. Q: My DVD was damaged in shipping, what do I do? A: We will gladly replace any goods damaged in shipping or because of a manufacturer’s defect. Please contact us at ‘help@canondvguide.com’ for instructions on how to proceed. Q: I’m a reseller and am interesting in selling the Guide where do I get reseller pricing info? A: Please email us at ‘help@canondvguide.com’ for more information. |
